Markdown support
GitHub-flavoured Markdown: headings, paragraphs, bold, italic, strikethrough, inline code, links, bullet and numbered lists (nested, any start number), task lists, quotes, fenced code blocks with a language, horizontal rules and tables. A single newline is a line break, like GitHub comments. Bare URLs become Jira smart links.
Code block languages include JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Bash, YAML, JSON, HTML/XML, CSS, SQL, Java, Go, Ruby, Rust, Kotlin, Swift, C, C++, C#, PHP, Diff and Markdown. Common short names such as js, py and sh work too.
Safety
- Warns before overwriting if someone else saved the description while you were editing.
- Opens read-only if you can't edit the description.
- Asks before discarding unsaved changes.
- Only your own comments can be edited.
- Copy Markdown keeps your text safe if anything goes wrong.
